Button Making Masterclass : Gorl Technique

Highlights

  • On-Demand masterclass

  • 1 hour 25 minutes

  • Advanced level

Description

In this on-demand Masterclass, you will learn how to work the passementerie button-making technique known as “Gorl”. This technique is recorded in Diderot & d'Alembert's Encyclopedia of the 18th century as “roster”, and is used to create a faux gimp line on the face of the button.

You will learn how to make the base thread-wrapped button, and then to work the decorative technique to make a star design. A second video shows how to make the basic rose gorl design.

You should be familiar with thread button making, in particular, thread wrapping star designs, before taking this Masterclass.

You will have access to this Masterclass for 180 days (6 months) from the date of purchase.
